How do I install Macoui on my phone?
Macoui works directly in your browser. Go to app.macoui.app and add the app to your home screen: on Safari, tap "Share" then "Add to Home Screen". On Chrome, tap the 3 dots then "Install app".
Does it work without connection at sea?
Yes! It's even one of Macoui's strengths. Download weather forecasts before leaving (takes a few seconds on WiFi at the marina). Once at sea, all data remains accessible, even without 4G.
Where do the weather forecasts come from?
Macoui uses reference weather models: GFS (American model) and soon ECMWF (European model). These are the same data used by maritime professionals.
How does Macoui calculate the best route?
Macoui analyzes wind forecasts for the coming days and calculates the route that gets you there fastest, taking into account your boat's performance. This is called "weather routing".
Does it work for my boat?
Macoui includes profiles for the most common boats (cruising sailboats, catamarans...). If your boat isn't in the list, you can create a custom profile or import your polars.
Is it free? What's the catch?
Macoui is completely free. No hidden subscription, no "premium" version. We simply want to help sailors better plan their navigations.
Does it work for the Mediterranean? The Atlantic?
Macoui works anywhere in the world. Forecasts are available for all maritime areas.
